Privacy Policy
What we collect, what we don't, and why it matters.
Last updated:
Metronome News is designed to respect your privacy by default. This page explains exactly what data we process and what we don't. Short version: we collect almost nothing.
What we don't collect
- We don't have user accounts — there's no registration, email, or password required to read.
- We don't use third-party analytics tools (no Google Analytics, no Facebook Pixel).
- We don't set tracking cookies.
- We don't sell or share any data — we have none to sell.
What your browser stores locally
For convenience, the site saves a few preferences in your browser's
localStorage. This data never leaves your device and we never see it:
- Theme preference (light or dark mode).
You can clear this any time from your browser's settings.
Third-party content
When you click a link to an external site (e.g. a source cited in an article), you leave Metronome News and enter that site's domain. The policies of that site apply from that point. We don't control what happens there.
We use a small number of third-party resources to make the site work:
- Fonts — the Inter font is served from our own domain (not Google Fonts), so there's no tracking connection to Google.
- GitHub Pages — our hosting provider. Standard web hosting logs may be kept by GitHub. See GitHub's privacy statement.
Server logs
Like most web hosts, GitHub Pages keeps basic logs (IP address, request time, page requested). These are not accessible to us and are used by GitHub for operational purposes such as preventing abuse. They are not used for advertising.
Advertising
Metronome News currently does not run ads. If this changes in the future (e.g. we enable Google AdSense), this page will be updated with full disclosure at least 30 days before ads go live.
Changes to this policy
If we make significant changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and note major changes in a changelog.
